Surely you’ve thought about what in your life you’ll change when you’re rich. I have. A house that speaks ages of course, with nearly as many working fireplaces as rooms. A pantry and cellar fueling a hall fit for a sultan and his court. Surrounded by A thousand-acre crested vista all your own— no neighbors to speak of. Sunny terraced lawns and shady gardens, punctuated by the occasional bleached column or marble fountain, where Though everything is perfectly cared for, no gardener is in sight or sound. No mower chugging near or far— simply the gentle whisper of nature, a lavender backdrop for reflection on the great issues. Except For infrequent white-robed maidens, any one of which would— at your beckon only— herald the rising sun with a touch of her lute before joyfully tending to any and all of your whims. Maxfield Parrish straight up... Personally though I’ve got a ways to go before reaching anything close to this Avalon. Started and making progress, but on a small scale. For example Monday I’m taking a television to Easy Pawn and expect to leave with a minimum of $35 in my pocket. Out of that, the only expense is a $7 monthly interest payment on a ticket from Cash Express. You do the math, that’s $28— 80% profit. Now I’ll be the first to admit Figures like this are not enough to make it worthwhile to get up at— or in my case, stay up until— 5:30 AM to catch The Morning Business Report. But Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Gates all had to start small. So do I. |
